The temporal concentration of travel demand in an urban transport network

A metric is proposed to measure the temporal concentration of travel demand across the underground network in London. A methodology is proposed to understand the spatial variability and the drivers of the temporal concentration of travel demand. The analysis uses smart travel card data facilitated by Transport for London.

Detecting the sensitive spots of the African interurban transport network

We measure the resilience of the African transport network based on the intensity of future violent events and the impact of one event on the flow that travels through the network. We use data from OpenStreetMap to construct the road network.

Inferring urban polycentricity from the variability in human mobility patterns

Smart travel card data is used to infer urban polycentricity by examining how a city departs from a well-defined monocentric model. The analysis is applied to London and Seoul.
